Spreadsheet to CRM

Keep your contacts. Give the work a home.

Moving out of a spreadsheet starts with a clean contact list and a small test. You can build the workflow around it as your team gets comfortable.

1. Keep a copy of the original

Save a dated backup before editing your sheet. Decide which rows represent individual contacts and which details belong to companies. Keep your source file so you can check the imported result.

2. Clean the contact list

Use one header row, consistent columns, and one contact per row. Review duplicates and old records, and separate combined details where practical. Export the contact sheet as CSV rather than expecting formulas, formatting, or extra workbook tabs to carry over.

3. Try a small CSV first

Create a Jindo workspace, open Imports, upload a small representative contact CSV, and map the supported fields. Review the import result and open a few contacts to check names, contact details, and company information before loading the rest.

The trial supports up to 1,000 contacts, 5 users, and 100 MB of CRM data. The paid plan supports up to 10,000 contacts. Check the limits before uploading a full list.

4. Turn next steps into tasks

A spreadsheet row may mix a person, an opportunity, and a reminder. After importing contacts, create the relevant deals and assign tasks with due dates. Put conversation notes with the relationship instead of adding more free-text columns.

5. Agree on a team routine

Decide who owns each opportunity and when to update notes. Invite teammates with the appropriate roles, check the first import together, and choose a date to stop making competing updates to the old sheet.

Start with a trial, then choose your billing interval

Jindo’s 30-day trial requires no credit card. After it expires, you can still view the workspace, but need a paid plan to make changes. Paid subscriptions start at $10/month or $100/year for 5 seats; additional seats cost $2/month or $20/year.
